Curious. I haven't been around. There was a day that the front page had about 2 hours of posts and then is revolved to the second page. Something had to really be hot to stay on the front. Not so now .... 

I voted for "found a better place". Kingwood.com is much less political, they don't allow people to hurt other people, and they don't allow advertising on the board. Just generally all around better.

Some people come on this site to fight and stalk others. I am simply here to read up on the daily news in Kingwood, something I have done for almost two years. I have learned the best thing to do is to just keep comments to myself so that nobody can cause a fight with me. Some things are better left unsaid and some things are better left in court :)

I agree. There are a lot of people that I enjoyed reading their posts. I enjoyed their sense of humor and seemed to agree more with them on a lot of topics. Recently I've seen less and less of them posting here. So yeah it seems to have become somewhat boring here.

Hahaha, Mulchie....it sure can be. But I like that I can get things done with a bit of a slower site. Some people prefer a faster pace.

I liked reading about any suspicious activity on the trails before going for my daily 5 mile run in the mornings .. I havn't seen much of that on here lately .. I am guessing that they have more bike patrol out now? 

I think, if you have opinions, it gets to a point where you either get off, or get tougher- I chose the latter-I don't get upset, anymore, actually find the trolls who try to attack me, to be laughable- not so much, when my friends are attacked- as I said on another thread, in the immortal words of James Brown, don't give none, won't get none- HA!!! I find the sweet people to be very endearing!! 

I come on KU for a little neighborhood gossip, thoughts on current events, things we should know, restaurant reviews, Martha's deals, and to talk with the nice posters. I'm turned off with the preaching constantly. No thread goes unpunished. I work from home so can take a look at KU but sometimes it is just too much of the fighting and finger pointing that it isn't worth the time spent.

everyone complains about the drama but the drama is what sucks people in. back in the day when people could delete each other I would check in more often because I didn't want to miss the big blowups between sassy and panties before they got deleted. there were some epic drama days back then. We didn't know who the mods were and things were not censored as much.

now posters can't ice and delete each other, there is more modding and censoring so its a quieter place.

people always like to say things were so much nicer on KU back in the day..but it wasn't. but it was more entertaining, lol. it was like the wild, wild west especially late weekend nights..Catgirl posting her sexy pictures after dark, setta and harpo going at each other, Panties in for a good snarky laugh, yeah, the good old days!

but it wasn't as much religion and politics. that is what makes KU a snoozefest for me...thread after thread of the same old stuff. to each their own.

HissyFit, you are right! Nothing like the humor of panties, sassy and the others. It was funny and I have more time late night. It was our own soap opera. That was kind of funny drama rather than snarly drama. Now by 11pm, KU has the rug pulled up and snoozing.

Been around a looonnng time. It's just not fun any more. I used to laugh my butt off at some of the threads in the old days (the bikini wax poll!). Just not like that anymore. And we used to do so much community service on here too. I guess it was smaller and we were all just tighter about 5-6 years ago. 

I think there are really only a few rude bullies posting here and intimidation and ridicule is what makes their day. We say we'll ignore, block & hose etc but in fact those rude bullies take the luster off posting on KU for many... 

it seems like the only time the true, kind KU spirit shows up- when people ask for prayers for a loved one-that's another reason to stay on KU- so much love and loyalty-

I actually started on Kingwood.com many years ago. I posted often but it was boooooring. I enjoy political debate, but I felt like I was the only one.

People on that forum started mentioning this one as a terrible place. I took a look but hated the user interface. This forum is so 1980s in terms of layout, ease of use, organization, and graphic appearance. The whole visual appearance was a deterrent to me.

What I was drawn to was the larger group of participants. There were actually people willing to debate things and not just post pictures of their pets and kiss each other's behinds.

Once I got into my first political debate here, I never went back...until I got iced for the first time. I still think it's a stupid feature to have when the owner of this site should want MORE traffic. If users could set their own content filters, there would be no reason to ice someone over "offensive" remarks.

I hate the drama here, but I love the sparring. I also like all the anonymous people here that I have never met. Y'all are the next best thing to having anonymous family members.

You weren't the only one, but sometimes we got a little too heated and Kosmin had to put us in timeout.

I got tired of all the dog fanaticism over there. It was like a dog cult.

So, we have God fanaticism here and Dog fanaticism over there. And of course dog is God spelled backwards. Hmmmm..... 

I think a lot of us that pulled together to help families, retirement homes in need, and just got together to have fun, have grown apart. I think that we have gone our own ways. The fighting got to be ridiculous. The back-stabbing, name calling got to be ridiculous. That is why I gave it up. It was turning into an unhealthy environment. Also, a lot of us had babies that are now in their school years and life just ended up getting really busy. I check back for things like accidents, news, etc. However, very rarely. 

The mods are on a DELETE TOPIC kick lately which keeps this site STALE. Which of you mods is pushing the DELETE TOPIC button? Need a DELETE MOD button...
