BP chief executive Tony Hayward, often criticized for being tone-deaf to U.S. concerns about the worst oil spill in American history, took time off Saturday to attend a glitzy yacht race off England's…

And were you this upset with the man in charge (his words, not mine) going on vacation 4 times so far, 2 concerts, bashing America at will, numerous golf games and untold games of basketball?

Consistency is a good thing.

Yeah, but what about Shrub golfing and vacationing while our troops were being killed and maimed in Iraq and Afghanistan?

No, they like the 'Gods and Clods' thing they have going now...

Don't be mean to the BP president. He's trying to run a company, yo!

Ogre1 --- 13 years ago -

Who cares? It's not as if he's the one actually turning valves down in the Gulf. So he went to a yacht race? I just can't bring myself to give a sh1t.

I might would actually be p1ssed if say he shut down recovery operations or actually did something that affected the recovery of oil.

I don't expect any one person, whether it be the lowliest Deckhand to the highest ranking Admiral to the President of BP or the United States to spend every second of their lives thinking about this problem or any other. And to do so is just ignorant.

The "elites" of the world could give a S#!T about us "little people".

(rolling eyes), whatever... so what else is new? Deal with it.

Who really gives a rats a$$?
Cuz I sure as he## don't.

I really don't see the big deal over this. As others on here have said, it's not like he's the one pulling the levers. In fact, it's probably good that he get a day off.

Meanwhile CNN/Timewarner and several Celebrities are lining up their attempts in the way of a telethon to lure money out of heartbroken, over taxed, unemployed Americans.

I don't care what this guy or Obama does on a daily basis but what I do care about is their obvious tactics to prevent the stop of the leak and to prevent the clean up process. Ask yourself why they are doing this?

Why won't the stop the leak?
Answer: They can't.

BULL CRAP

Why are they preventing people from cleaning up the mess and turning away willing and able clean up crews?
Answer: safety concerns.

BULL CRAP

So what's the truth?
Answer: the ugly truth is that this entire thing is a ploy to bring the gulf states down to the economic levels as so many of the other US States who are struggling right now. Houston alone stands to lose at least 50 thousand jobs if these rigs uproot and sail off to better waters. Then you factor in all the other states, the jobs lost, the businesses that will never recover, and there you have it.
