Beto is getting massive amounts of cash from outside of TX. A Beto win would put wind in democrat's sails all over the country, hence the national and even international gravy train from some less than admirable contributors. 

His name is O'Rourke, quit using Beto as it's his attempt to connect to Hispanics. He is Irish-American. 

Robert Francis O'Rourke, to be exact. Beto is slang for Roberto (Robert) in Spanish. Don't get me wrong, I'm the last guy to support him. But he did grow up in El Paso where learning Spanish is almost obligatory. I don't know if Beto was a nickname when he was a kid or if he did, in fact, adopt it to appeal to a broader, more diverse base. Either way, he espouses very liberal ideals that run contrary to the majority of Texan's sensibilities.
