Before I transformed completely to vegetarianism, I ate halal meat because it was more humane of a killing than most US slaughtered meat.
There are some prayer rituals involved, but overall, is more clean and humane than your commercially processed meat here.

It's the opposite actually. Bleeding an animal by the throat is about the most painless way to die. For all practical purposes it's completly painless since the brain depressurizes instantly partially shutting down instantly, as the arteries are cut causing good feeling endorphines to enter the blood stream. This is a traditional way killing animals done in many countries that arent muslim, including the US.

The irony is, the way the US big food inc. treats animals is the method which is flat out satanic.
