It should only take three votes for the system to remove me as Mod and I've already cast the first one. I was waiting for the next Mod change to go out (and almost did with that last unexpected new Mod proposal), but if I don't go now, waiting for the next change might be longer than I would want to wait. Good luck to the other mods and kudos for putting up with KU.

Well that's unexpected. After coming home from a nice celebratory dinner and night out on the town with my lovely bride of 23 years, I was expecting y'all to let me go faster than I use prepositions to end sentences with. I'll take that 3 votes to stay as a kind gesture from the three of you that voted which I really appreciate.



To those of you who have pm'd me for a better reason why I'm seeking my freedom, I hope it doesn't seem any less personal to just respond here. Soup is right (weird, I know...j/k). As I posted on the New Years Resolution thread at the beginning of this year, my career has advanced to a position of greater responsibility. I'm replacing my now retired boss. 17 years in my current job has now led to arriving at its peak. While making this transition, it's become very obvious to me that even though it's infrequent, the negativity and extreme nastiness that comes from a few troubled people, still brings me down. This should have been a happy week for me, but some spillover drama from this occasional distraction was enough for me to know I gotta go. As shocking as it may seem, the day job that pays the bills will indeed be paying more than KU does. If I remember correctly, I also advised one or more of the other Mods during the last change that after what I think has been time spent with five different variations of Mod teams, the current Mod team will be my last. I know most of the other Mods didn't get a head's up and may not have been ready for one fewer person mopping the occasionally filthy floors, so for that I apologize. I hope KU can learn to treat you better. You're all wonderful people and none of you deserve the abuse, especially the extreme cases I have seen some of my teammates endure. I hope you can all help keep KU fun.

Sad to see a good mod go, but I absolutely understand. And please know that it is same people every single time that have a problem with the mods. And they will have the exact same problems with whoever the next unlucky sap happens to be. It never had anything to do with you (or any other mod).

I don't necessarily agree with that based upon his tendency to sometimes attack and attempt to belittle some posters knowing they couldn't respond to his pompous, bullying attacks under the threat of retribution by icing. 

But same has been said of most the others, true or not. Mods will always be under attack, like it or not.
