I am a Mother to 4 beautiful kids and along with diet and exercise I was in need of something to help me along the way but I wanted something safe and natural. Since Plastic surgery was out of the question so I started looking into body wraps and wa la! I found what I had been looking for. Now these body wraps (ItWorks) are not like some of the others you have seen you do not lose “water weight” these body wraps work by detoxifying. I am on wrap # 3 and I love them! If you would like more info you can reach me at itworksbeecham@gmail.com and you can also check out these awesome wraps as well as the other health and beauty products that I sell at http://www.beecham.itworks.net. I hope you all have a blessed day!

Show me an independent and verifyable scientific study that this product works. Detoxifying is done by drawing water out. Every single study I have researched has shown that the effect of these wraps is temporary at best. You can not replace exercise and diet.

I did say along with diet and exercise. And the result's from the wraps DO last as long as you keep up eating healthy and regular exercise. I myself am proof that they DO work.

I wonder if it works as well as these did?

Those machines were around in 1930's! It was a fad that sorta stuck around for awhile.

I see the "fat-wrapping" in the same vein. ;)

Now, if you had a way to wrap my chest and create boobs without surgery, sign me up!!! :D

So sorry.....I was not aware that there was an English teacher in the room.

Why is it, that we can donate a kidney, but not boobs. I would totally give you some. You and about 12 of your flattest friends.

Dorothy Parker --- 2 years ago -

Dude, I AM the flattest of my friends! I need it ALL!!!! :/

But, yes, I agree! They need to come up with a way to do this...it would be awesome! well, without having to take anti-rejection meds and whatnot...lol.

Sorry to be rude about it, but if you are trying to sell something, no matter how bogus, you should use the correct words in your testimonial.

The people on this board are pretty savvy, and they tend to smell the bs from miles away.

ghostpost --- 2 years ago -

I really can't imagine people falling for these claims but I suppose there are those that just don't believe or understand the science of weight loss.

I'm fat and I know why...I could wrap myself in saran wrap and maybe sweat off a few calories from it, but the only way to lose meaningful body fat is to burn more calories than you consume.

I appreciate someone trying to make money by promoting their MLM but I also can't stand to see vulnerable people throw money away on these kinds of schemes. At least a candle smells good.

From Web MD:

What Can a Body Wrap Do -- and Not Do?

What you can expect from a body wrap depends on who you talk to -- a spa operator or a physician.

No one disputes the moisturizing capability of a wrap or the relaxation of lying motionless for nearly an hour.

But there's not consensus on other claims about what body wraps deliver.

"If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is," says Sandra Fryhofer, MD, past president of the American College of Physicians. Fryhofer is in private practice in Atlanta and is a clinical associate professor of medicine at Emory University School of Medicine.

Here is a quick look at what body wraps will -- and won't -- do for you.

Can a Body Wrap Detox?

The claim sounds good, but lacks scientific evidence, doctors say. "There's never been any real scientific evidence that body wraps pull out toxins or purify your body in any way," says Elizabeth Tanzi, MD, a Washington, D.C. dermatologist (who does not offer body wraps in her practice) and clinical instructor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

But the extent of the ''detox'' claim varies from spa to spa. Carney of rA Organic Spa, for instance, says the body wraps detox the skin of impurities. ''When your body sweats, you are detoxing your skin," she says, ''not your liver or your kidneys."

Depending on the product uses, that might be true, Tanzi tells WebMD. "There are some benefits to, say, a clay body treatment," she says. "Those can pull out some impurities in the skin, in the pores."

Tanzi has used a clay-based mask for acne patients, with success.

But as for detox claims beyond that, forget it, doctors say. "I don't know of any scientific basis for the detox," Fryhofer says.

Can a Body Wrap Slim You?

As for the slimming wraps, "any loss of inches is going to be temporary,'' Fryhofer says. ''Wraps cannot take the place of a healthy diet and exercise."

Susie Ellis agrees. "After you take the [slimming] wrap off, there will be an appearance of tightness," she says. "It is definitely temporary." It may last, she says, for a day or two.

But if you're trying to look good for a day at the beach on your honeymoon, for instance, temporary improvement may be good enough, Ellis says. "I look at those slimming wraps like a spray tan," she says. "It's temporary, but sometimes temporary is OK."

"They won't give you long-term weight loss," Tanzi says. "They can temporarily make you feel a little thinner and when you look at the scale the pounds can go down a pound or two. But that's water weight loss. It's a temporary phenomenon."

Oh, well, back to pounding the flab and eating right!

Abundant Health and Wellness --- 2 years ago -

Herbal wraps do work to help detoxify the body. They are not a 'total' cure for flab, but with the right diet and exercise, they can help you jump start the inch loss.

Exactly if you read the first line I said along with diet and exercise. And it appears some people did not read that and just assume that I was implying that these wraps work without the diet and exercise. Thank you for your post : )

Or shake weights. Shake shake shake, shake my booty...At least I've figured out MOVING brings the results. Anything they do while you lay on your butt is for relaxation, not fat loss.

And let me remind everyone that it takes 3,500 unburned calories to make one pound of fat. Then you have to burn 3,500 calories to get it off. Simple, yet depressing mathematics. lol

Really. I don't think this goes back quite to the 30's. More like early 50's ......and i remember reading about kidney damage over the 60's. As a kid...mind you.........I read alot.......
