than a week. Allie Lowitzer, 16, was last seen on her way home from school on April 26. Her family and friends don't believe Allie ran away and they are very worried, according to the Laura Recovery Center. They say Allie is an avid texter, averaging 4,000 texts a month, but no one has heard from her. Her father told 11 News she didn't take her cell phone charger, any personal belongings and didn't pick up her most recent paycheck. Relatives say Allie plays softball and is missing an important tournament and also missed a close friend's 16th birthday celebration. Ground searchers were combing areas of interest near where she disappeared, and the Laura Recovery Center said search dogs were aiding in the effort. Officials said Lowitzer’s parents remain hopeful that she will be found safe. Anyone with information on Lowitzer’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Laura Recovery Center at 281-482-5723. They are meeting at North Woods Baptist Church guys everyday until Saturday to search. It is on Treachwig. They need volunteers. I will be going either tonight or in the morning if any of you would like to go.

I have seen a few reports about this on the news. But not enough IMO. It's very sad. I hope she is found safe and sound.

*Jenn* --- 15 years ago -

yeah it hasnt been on the news much at all which I don't understand.

Squareduck --- 15 years ago -

yeah it hasnt been on the news much at all which I don't understand. It is concerning to me. Not meant to take away from this story but isn't there another young girl missing in the area. She is a special needs student at Summer Creek High School. I'm trying to understand why there isn't more stories done on these missing people.

*Jenn* --- 15 years ago -

squareduck. someone told there was another teen missing in that area. Haven't heard that story yet. Makes me mad that news isn't saying much..

Niki --- 15 years ago -

Just got this in an e-mail from one of my vendors. Can someone link the flyer for me??? To all my friends in the Industry: I hope you all will look at this flyer and try and come out for this benefit. This 16 yr old girl is the daughter of one of our Houston Import personnel. She got off the bus at normal time last Monday in Spring, 4-26-10 and has not been seen since. The Laura Recovery Center is handling search teams, and we could use volunteers any day, and will be thru the week-end if anyone can make it out there in Spring. This benefit is being handled by Exel Logistics where the girls dad works, so if you want to go by and grab a few plates for lunch or dinner on Saturday or make donations to the center, it would go to a very good cause. Feel free to forward this to anyone who might be interested. The search for Ali will continue through this weekend, May 9th, 2010 at 9AM at Northwood Baptist Church, 5803 Treaschwig Road, in Spring, Texas. Searchers are asked to bring a picture ID and wear appropriate clothing for trekking through brush and woods. Searchers must be 18 years old or older. Search teams of approximately 10 searchers will be briefed and sent out until 4:30PM tomorrow. A ground search typically lasts from 2 to 4 hours. Alexandria was last seen as she was returning home after school. Her flyer, which contains more details, can be accessed at: http://www.lrcf.net/missing The Laura Recovery Center would like to thank the tireless volunteers and dog handlers who are helping search for this missing girl.

*Jenn* --- 15 years ago -

i will be going tomorrow to search if anyone wants to met there.

Baroness --- 15 years ago -

yeah it hasnt been on the news much at all which I don't understand. The reason you don't see it much is because she is (at least as of a couple of days ago) not listed as endangered, nor do the police suspect foul play. Not saying they're right, but that's where it stands OFFICIALLY. As of Tuesday, she was considered a runaway, and until that status changes, the media won't be too concerned. As soon as law enforcement opinion changes, they'll be all over it. At my office (Observer), like at just about any other media outlet, we generally don't run information about runaways because it would fill the entire paper - there are just so many of them. This one we did publicize to give people the heads up on volunteer opportunities. Also, unless the parents make a lot of noise, the media doesn't usually know about runaway cases because law enforcement doesn't usually share the info unless, again, the child is believed to be endangered. Not saying there shouldn't be a policy reform, just an explanation of why you haven't seen too much about it.

Baroness --- 15 years ago -

You can email, download or print a flier here - Alexandria is top of the list... Alexandria Lowitzer

*Jenn* --- 15 years ago -

Thanks for the info...Why is this case consdered a runaway. what evidence is there that she ran away. The police just do not want to miss with it because they think every teenager runs away. From what her grandfather says she is not a run away. She took nothing with her. I guess when they find her dead (hopefully not) it will be broadcasted everywhere. How sad. I will help tomorrow cause I dont think she is a run a away.

mommie21g1b --- 15 years ago -

This doesn't sound like a runaway. This should be in the media.

Meme2my5 --- 15 years ago -

This doesn't sound like a runaway. Runaways usually take and use their cell phones. I hope the police are not assuming she ran away. That could be a terrible mistake. Prayers she is found safe and soon.

mommie21g1b --- 15 years ago -

She left her last paycheck for goodness sake!

*Jenn* --- 15 years ago -

From Jon her dad:It's confirmed. Laura Recovery Center will set up at the same church. North Woods Baptist Church. 5803 Treaschwig, Spring, TX 77373. Corner of Treaschwig and Cypresswood behind the Subway. Searches begin at 9:00am Saturday. Jeans, comfortable boots (hiking) or walking shoes and hats are recommended. Come dressed for the weather. Those individuals not able to stomp around in the brush and woods can help with fliers. Hope to see you there.

*Jenn* --- 15 years ago -

Thank GOD for Laura Recovery Center. They are great.

*Jenn* --- 15 years ago -

oh you have to be 18 to search and bring your DL.

pumpkinsmom2 --- 15 years ago -

Directions to the search area from Kingwood. Take 1960 heading west away from 59. Right after Lee Rd. (behind the airport) start looking for Cypresswood Dr...go right on Cypresswood. Follow Cypresswood down to Treaschwig...you'll see a strip mall to the right (where Burger Barn is), a Dollar Store and across the street you will see Subway on the right. Hope a lot of people show up to help. We'll be out there when we can.

*Jenn* --- 15 years ago -

Thanks pumpkinsmom2. we will be there with 4 wheeler

*Jenn* --- 15 years ago -

thanks to the lady that met me to give me the water and snacks for the search. I will have it out there Saturday and they will aprreciate it. Thanks.

JTC --- 15 years ago -

I am interested in participating in the search but am only available on Sunday...Do people just show up or are there certain times ect?

*Jenn* --- 15 years ago -

the search will go on Sunday also if nothing is found Saturday. You can just show up at the location and they will put you out with the next search group. Make sure you wear jeans, a shirt that has sleeves, good shoes, a cap. It is rough out there in the woods.

JTC --- 15 years ago -

Thanks

*Jenn* --- 15 years ago -

girlsRus --- 15 years ago -

Has anyone heard anything? My dd was on her way home this afternoon in this area on Richey Road I believe and there were a lot of patrol cars, they were looking at an area in the woods and appeared to be searching for something. I didn't know if the law was now involved in the search and this is where they were looking today. She said there were like 8-10 patrol cars.

*Jenn* --- 15 years ago -

oh really girlsrus...I went and dropped of the water and snacks around lunch time and they were still looking. I didnt get to search because it was raining and I sure don't need to get sick. What time was your dd on the way home? NOt even sure if that is where they were searching. I will keep watching her site...so sad

*Jenn* --- 15 years ago -

The law is helping out on leads and if anything is found. They have not turned there back on them the father has said.
