Perfection --- 10 years ago -

hhhmmmm stay the course?

So THIS is what he is focused on?

Oregonian --- 10 years ago -

A most misleading post intended to stir the pot once again.

He met with National leaders and urged them to stay the course....the course to finding some peace and order in the city.

He did not meet with local "leaders", did he?

There is discourse between the national and local organizations.

You apparently only read what you want into the article.

FANCY PANTS --- 10 years ago -

I think he wants them to protest. They will protest and riot no matter the verdict. It's the nature of the beast. They have been told by the president that they should.

Oregonian --- 10 years ago -

They have been told by the president that they should.

No, he did not. Where did he tell the national leaders to continue and accelerate the protests? Were you there?

SleightOfHand --- 10 years ago -

He has no respect for the constitution that he swore to uphold. What a POS

Perfection --- 10 years ago -

So all of these protestors who have been practicing now for weeks on how to march (seriously you have to practice how to walk?) - who is paying them?

Not KU --- 10 years ago -

Pres Obama met with Ferguson demonstration leaders

That seems beneath the job description of a president. Did he meet w/the Gov. of Missouri or the Mayor of Ferguson or both?

Opinions are like fingerprints. Everybody has one. Our President is not a POS. Thats mine.

Prolix Raconteur --- 10 years ago -

no, he met with sharpton and lead organizers of the ongoing protests to encourage them to continue

he's not helping matters in the least.

Oregonian --- 10 years ago -

no, he met with sharpton and lead organizers of the ongoing protests to encourage them to continue

Where is your source to confirm that he encouraged them to continue to protest during their conversaion?
Hearsay I say!

Prolix Raconteur --- 10 years ago -

Scroll down to the last few paragraphs. It was neatly tucked away at the very end of the article.

Our President is not a POS.

Agreed. But, he is a socialist bent on the destruction of the US as we know it and that which made us a great nation.

From Bill Moyers the following:
"KKK?s bad weekend ?> Last week, the racist terror group distributed flyers warning they?d respond to protests in Ferguson, Missouri, with ?lethal force.? In response, the hacktivist group Anonymous outed a number of St. Louis-area Klan members and took over the group?s Twitter account, according to Tom Boggioni at Raw Story."

These are the kinds of folks that flip the cars and break the windows. The people that have no bone in the protest. People that just want to cause chaos. Ive said this before. We WILL see it again. Out of towners that want to bring problems where they don't need to be.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 10 years ago -

Out of towners that want to bring problems where they don't need to be.

The KKK has a right to exist. Having said that, my opinion of them is that they are a bunch of uneducated racist scum and an embarassment to the south and the nation as a whole.

But, the Ferguson rioters were from out of town as well.

Not KU --- 10 years ago -

But, the Ferguson rioters were from out of town as well.

Yes. That is what Im saying. I believe the peaceful protesters were local. After all it was at the request of the Brown family to be peaceful. Im sure some were not so respectful of the families wishes. But it had been reported that out of some of the arrest there were those as far away as L.A.

When the grand jury makes their announcement, it won't be racist white guys in bed sheets burning Ferguson to the ground. In fact, I would venture you won't see those guys anywhere to be found. They're big talkers, but I believe they practice self preservation.

Not KU --- 10 years ago -

No. there will be no burning crosses or white hooded thugs. They will be there in police uniforms with tear gas, guns and clubs. They are called "Bad Apples"
In the chaos of "Protecting the public" we will witness havoc and mayhem on citizens that are there exercising their rights for peaceful assembly.

It is my hope that law enforcement agencies recognize the "bad apples" and weed them out of their ranks.

It was also reported that there was a "No Fly Zone" over Ferguson, Mo after the s#!t hit the fan for reasons of press blackouts. Lets see if that is the case when it hits the fan again. If it hits the fan. I don't want to add to the hype. I hope it goes peaceful. Im sure we all will be watching to see.

Work in Progress --- 10 years ago -

There are too many people with an agenda that have been exploiting this situation to further their own aims. Truth, peace, liberty, and healing are not their goals. Power, narrative, politics, and control are.

This is not the peaceful civil rights movement of the 60s, enacted by people who saw injustice and wanted to right it. It is the organized chaos of elite puppet masters who will manipulate, lie, stir up passions, and ignite hate and violence for their own gain.

Perfection --- 10 years ago -

Sad we have gotten to this point that people feel it is acceptable to destroy property and hurt others for no good reason.

The truth is the truth. I'm sorry they don't believe it but that doesn't make it not the truth

Prolix Raconteur --- 10 years ago -

In the chaos of "Protecting the public" we will witness havoc and mayhem on citizens that are there exercising their rights for peaceful assembly.

Anyone with half a brain will not be anywhere near that place when the grand jury makes their announcement. Should someone choose their right to protest or gather over their own well being then they have made a choice to insert themselves into a very dangerous environment where they could possibly be subjected to grievous bodily injury. In the confusion that ensues, the perpetrator could be anyone on the streets. Best to stay away and live to protest another day.

Work in Progress --- 10 years ago -

I agree Prolix, but what about the cops who have to be there, and are also the target of the demonstrations. They will be harrassed nonstop, probably just stopping shy of the law, but will have the eyes of the nation inspecting them for one misstep that blow the whole situation 100 times bigger. I feel really sorry for them. If I were a cop there, I would probably just quit.

Prolix Raconteur --- 10 years ago -

Agreed; the cops are going to be in a very bad position. They will be provoked and goaded relentlessly in an attempt to get them to cross the line. They additionally have to deal with real law breakers in a riot environment and will be judged for how they handle themselves in a highly charged, virtually unprecedented, situation.

It's a no-win situation.

SoupIsGoodFood --- 10 years ago -

They'll burn Ferguson to the ground. Then petition the govt to rebuild the next day.

If that's an allegorical reference for current attitudes, I agree.

If not, it's just another opinion.

a889324uu --- 10 years ago -

I'm still ROFL that Anon took down the KKK Twitter and outed the Sheet Heads...

"Who made this GD ****?"

"Willard's wife."

"Look, nobody's saying they don't appreciate what Jenny did."

"Well, if all I had to do was cut a hole in a bag, I could have cut it better than this!"

"What about you Robert, can you see?"

"Not too good. I mean, if I don't move my head, I can see you pretty good, more or less, but when I start riding, the bags movin' all over and I'm not lying."

"S***, I just made my worse. Anybody bring any extra bags?"

LMAO

Prolix Raconteur --- 10 years ago -

Given the current politically and racially charged environment, will the presumed riots that will ensue after the announcement eclipse those of the 1992 post Rodney King finding? LA took the brunt of it, but there were noteworthy riots in large metropolitan areas nationwide. Anyone think there will be riots in Houston?

Butterbean --- 10 years ago -

I'm moving my chair down to town center to await the fireworks.

Our President is not a POS.

I agree, it is shamefull to post such garbage.

This is rude, crude and socially unacceptable.

Besides, its a major insult to POS everywhere.

kwgraniteguy --- 10 years ago -

I just read where the MO Gov has declared a state of emergency ahead of the GJ announcement.
