Blynda just called to say that they were at a funeral for her son-in-law's grandparent and her mother choked on water and actually died but the paramedics brought her back and she is being rushed as I typed this to NW in KW, Blynda was calling me from the ambulance.

PLEASE pray "right now"....it's vital...she said they don't know if she will pull through, but they and many of us know a bigger doctor don't we?

Her mother has been very special to many of us here...she is at so many of the KU functions and is such a sweet and kind person...giving and always willing to do whatever and be a part of whatever to help others.

Prayers and well wishes are requested immediately....thanks so much from Blynda and her family. They have been through so much.

Just got a text from Blynda...she is in a coma and on life support =(.

oh my gosh, so sorry to read this, praying for them... 

Saying prayers for strength and faith. Are they going to move her to the med center? Could she have had an attack of some sort causing her to aspirate on the water? 

She was so upset when she called I barely understood and we've only texted since briefly because they were working on her. I'm sure she'll get on here and update when she can with more thorough details on what happened, how and what they expect. 

Oh no....I hope she is not alone. Does Blynda have family around her? 

Praying hard! It was just about a year ago that she rushed her DH and GBB to the hospital following a kitchen accident. She has had her fill of heartache.

She text'd me about an hour ago that they are keeping her sedated I think she indicated, and cool to keep her brain from swelling. Still on life support an holding her own she said. She will update more tomorrow. She thanks everyone for praying.

I am home for the night....

Mom took a drink of water from me at the Funeral Home. She started choking. While she was started coughing, we feel that he had a stroke of heart attacked. My husband, son-in-law, dad and a friend kept doing CPR on her since she stopped breathing. When the ambulance team took over she still did not have a heartbeat or pulse, about 20 minutes later they got a faint pulse and rushed her to Northwest Hospital.

Current Status: in critical condition, they are putting cool-pacs on her to see what type of brain damage was caused. There are tubes everywhere and she does not even know that we are there. She has twinges due to the cool down and her eyes, pop open but that it all.

Richard and Nikki stayed to be with the family and Grandma Walls funeral and then came straight to the hospital.

I will tell you of all the times I have had scares with mom, this is the first time that she actually died. I have not felt so helpless and alone in a room full of many people.

It is hard to walk in her room right now, but I know that I have to do this or I will always wished I had these moments with her.

The next 24-48 hours are crucial and we are just in a wait and see holding status.

Blynda just called to say that her Mom is in a vegetative state. She said her father was going to have them shut down the machine, but is waiting on results of some final testing they said they could do to make sure first. Keep praying and there is still hope.
