This is not one block from my house...man. HOUSTON -- A mother and daughter were found dead inside a home in Kingwood on Wednesday, KPRC Local 2 reported. Houston police said the bodies of 56-year-old Deborah Maloney and 83-year-old Lucy Maloney were found inside a home in the 3100 block of Silver Falls Drive near Deerbrook Drive at about 11 a.m. by a family member. "One was located by the front door. That individual was facedown. The other female was located a short distance from there in a hallway that is adjacent to the living room, faceup," said Capt. Dwayne Ready with the Houston Police Department. Police said a niece talked to the women on the phone at about 7 a.m. When she called back four hours later, there was no answer, so she called 911. Officials said they are working to determine how the women died. "I can see some injuries to the head area, some head injuries, but I can't tell you from whether at this point it's a blunt object or some other type of weapon," Ready said. There was no forced entry, and nothing was missing from inside the house, according to authorities. Investigators said that Deborah Maloney's car is missing. It's a 1993 tan Grand Prix with Texas license plates J03 SKH. Anyone with information is asked to contact Houston Police Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

yep...it's all on the "helicopter" thread.

PilotsWifeMommyof2 --- 15 years ago -

Police said a niece talked to the women on the phone at about 7 a.m. When she called back four hours later, there was no answer, so she called 911. I am curious about this part. Why was her first instinct to call the police? Why didnt she just assume they had gone out for the day to run errands or something?

I am curious about this part. Why was her first instinct to call the police? Why didnt she just assume they had gone out for the day to run errands or something? Maybe because of something said in their conversation on the phone..

mugglemom --- 15 years ago -

that's what i'm thinking too rrazl

PilotsWifeMommyof2 --- 15 years ago -

Exactly....so sounds like the niece might have known about something happening?

Paige --- 15 years ago -

Did it say they both resided there? Maybe the 83 year old had arrived from out of town and they had plans to pick up the niece. When they never showed, she called and no answer. She got worried.

Denise C --- 15 years ago -

The 83 year old and her 53 year old daughter lived together there for 15 years.

rrazl --- 15 years ago -

Exactly....so sounds like the niece might have known about something happening? I have to disagree with that. They could have been talking about the niece coming over and when the niece called back & got no answer got worried.

Jessie's girl --- 15 years ago -

especially since there was an elderly lady, I think I would check too

PilotsWifeMommyof2 --- 15 years ago -

I didnt say for sure that's what happened...just sounded a little bizarre...

~grandma again~ --- 15 years ago -

this is so sad! hopefully we will know the real story one day. it is a shame that people think they can get away with things like this. eventually they will pay though, eventually.

©Hanson♥ --- 15 years ago -

I checked and they both show up as registered voters at that address. No one else but those two are on the Harris Co. voters registration list for 3130 Silver Falls.

rrazl --- 15 years ago -

how did you have access to that?

And before anyone even asks Denise. LOL.

Wow, I come home and hear about all the trouble today. Elm Grove stranger, teens in Elm Grove and then accross the street the double murder. Ok, I will make sure all doors and windows are sealed and locked.

FishinKim --- 15 years ago -

My dh has a friend connected to this, I found out after he came home from work. As I'm sure many of you are...say a prayer for this family.

Puppy again --- 15 years ago -

They already have leads as to who did this! I am thankful.

lilmommy --- 15 years ago -

Wow. I really need to turn on the news instead of Sesame Street. That is just sad.

They found the car that was gone from their driveway at Trailwood Villiage Apts...weird! Hopefully they will find evidence in the car. How scared would you be if you lived in TV apts.??? Knowing that the killer was there...or whoever was driving that car was somehow linked to the crime.

SS (SmilingSurvivor) --- 15 years ago -

Police said a niece talked to the women on the phone at about 7 a.m. When she called back four hours later, there was no answer, so she called 911. Am I the only one that thinks this is strange? Why would you call 911 if someone doesn't answer the phone after just talking to them four hours earlier? They could have been out shopping or having lunch....calling 911 looks a bit suspicious to me... Looks like this neice called at 7am to make sure they were home, then called back at 11 to make sure the deed was done...

layla --- 15 years ago -

My really close friend lives there. I am so scared for her. She said she would be fine though. I offered for her to come over here..

FirePrincess --- 15 years ago -

MissT, I think that was what Hottie was trying to say earlier. Most people would drive over there or call a neighbor...but 911? I'm sure there's something we don't know.....but that does seem weird to me.

Justwatching72 --- 15 years ago -

Most likely the car was was dumped there, don't thikn the person(s) live there. I am willing to bet the person that did it, is related somehow to the family.

layla --- 15 years ago -

Fishinkim.. Can I ask a question?? Being new and all what does dh stand for? I'm going with whatever then husband.. Is that right? Sorry to get off of the subject for a second but just wondering...

ms_mm --- 15 years ago -

On the news tonight, the HPD guy talking said that the niece called 911 after she came to the house and found the bodies.

FirePrincess --- 15 years ago -

DH....Dear Husband

layla --- 15 years ago -

ooohhh thank you. So dd means I'm guessing dear daughter then too. Thanks for clearing that up!

April --- 15 years ago -

Ok, just imagine this....I call my mom and talk to her at 7 and we make plans for later that morning. I tell her that I'll call her when I head her away around 10 (which I always d0). Then I call her and she doesn't answer. I'd probably call again just in case she was in the bathroom, but I would completely freak. I know my mom and how she works and I would KNOW that something was horribly wrong. Now, I realize this was a niece, but I just don't see anything weird about it at all. My mom is 45 minutes away and I can promise you I would call the cops before I got to her house. Whether she called the cops first or went to the house to check on the ladies, it just doesn't seem odd to me at all.

lLackCreativity --- 15 years ago -

My granny is 85 this year. If I called her at 7am, was sure she wasn't leaving her house that day, called back 4hrs later...no answer. I would call the police. No if ans butts or hesitations. Neighbors...shes not chummy with them. Closer family...all at work or school. So the police would be my immediate instict.

rrazl --- 15 years ago -

I feel sorry for the niece. She's lost her Aunt and Grandmother to a brutal murder and now being possibly accused of having something to do with the murders. Thankfully the news seems to have cleared up a lot of speculations: On the news tonight, the HPD guy talking said that the niece called 911 after she came to the house and found the bodies.

Puppy again --- 15 years ago -

I don't think anyone can say she has anything to do with it at this point. Only time will tell. Not enough facts at this point!

ManicMom --- 15 years ago -

Am I the only one that thinks this is strange? I thought the exact same thing when they said this on the news tonight. Edited to add I am not suggesting she had anything to do with it. I just thought it was strange to immediately call 911 when their was no answer. I would call a neighbor perhaps, but not immediately 911.

Vicman --- 15 years ago -

Now that the suspected car has been found, I wonder when the suspects will be identified. I have been taught to lock the doors of my house at night - no matter where I am. By the way, the same topic is being discussed at HAIF here: http://www.houstonarchitecture.info/haif/index.php?showtopic=9013&st=0&gopid=134281&#entry134281
