Just passed new Shell station at front of Kingwood after coming out of stein mart and the new station was taped off. Saw four police cars and thought it was wreck. Then counted almost 20 more parked along incoming on Kingwood as well as an ambulance at the shell station Nothing there when I went IN stein mart at 1:00. Anyone know anything?

Another Shooting Death.

Gigix4 --- 7 years ago -

I guess that explains the helicopter activity at/near the front of Kingwood toward 56.

logitech --- 7 years ago -

Any sources on the shooting statement?

Ritewingking - Another Shooting Death.?

Any sources on the shooting statement?Another Shooting Death.??

I can tell you that this information is supported by eyewitness testimony. My son was on the scene and reported this on his facebook page minutes ago.

It really happened.

G Keeng --- 7 years ago -

Quoted:

"So I just witnessed part of a crime... will update as I find out more things.
Very thankful for all the people who keep us safe... I don?t think I could ever do what you do.
EDIT: Also, don?t come up or down Kingwood Drive. They?ve got it closed off near the Chase bank and the new Timewise that just opened up.

No one was hurt except the guy causing a scene, now he?s dead. Should know better than to resist and run from a cop."

Wasn't trying to cause an issue, just trying to figure out where the info came from. Drove by myself and saw a motorcycle on the ground and a ton of cops, but didn't know any more.

Thanks for the update G Keeng

From the other Kingwood site:

"After the motorcyclist crashed, the Montgomery police officer "had to shoot him" - shot him twice. According to the live video, he is deceased."

Kingwood.com LIVE from their Facebook page

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 7 years ago -

Link does not work.

Just heard Channel 2 preview saying they would be reporting about the Kingwood incident on KW Dr and Green Oak.

Link works fine.
Must be logged into facebook (if you have a fb account)

Not Green Oak.

It was at Chestnut Ridge - brand new TimeWise Shell Station.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 7 years ago -

I am logged in and it says content not available. The news said Green Oak just now.

TinktheSprite --- 7 years ago -

5-car police chase entered Kw Dr from 59. Stolen motorcycle wrecked (or stopped) at the New Shell station at Chestnut Ridge and KW Dr. and the guy ran on foot, pulled a gun, officers fired back killing him.

trailwoodmom --- 7 years ago -

The motorcycle is still in the road, kingwood drive about half-way between the apartment complex entrance and the entrance to the Shell station. Chestnut Ridge is the closest crossroad from the motorcycle.

Link DOES WORK and channel 2 is wrong, honeybunch.

Judas --- 7 years ago -

Expect it to be blocked all night. The whole local police force is probably there.

Miss Understanding --- 7 years ago -

tHERE IS A DAYCARE RIGHT BY THERE!!!?
Didn't even get close to the daycare or attempt to get into the daycare. Was on the KW Dr side of the brick car wash... Tried to car jack someone coming out of car wash after a few other assorted offenses...

Prolix Raconteur --- 7 years ago -

WTH is up with Miss U's caps lock?

Emelia --- 7 years ago -

Link works just fine. Thank you for the information.

Judas --- 7 years ago -

When do we get to find out what crime deserved death? All I've heard is he had a gun but never went for it.

Prolix Raconteur --- 7 years ago -

Report I saw said he pulled the gun out of his backpack and was shot at that time. Also said the whole thing was caught on the store's security cam, so it'll come out eventually.

I heard the officer retracted that statement. Who knows? Lots of different stories being floated around. Sad for his family that he screwed up and can't get that moment back for a second chance. Glad no one else was hurt.

Judas --- 7 years ago -

From the competitor's message board:

I know someone that knew the deceased. She was very shook up when heard it was him. Apparently he has 2 young children and a wife in this area and a lot of friends. According to my acquaintance some of the statements regarding the incident are incorrect and/or have been retracted. She said he was not reaching for a gun. I don't know if he had one on him or not. He didn't shoot the officer as some rumors have stated. She said he had not committed an armed robbery as some have said. This is all second hand info so take it as that.

It is very sad that someone's life can take a turn and in an instant all can change not just for them but for so many that loved them. We always want to think the "bad guy" is so different from all of us. It gives us some kind of false reassurance that this is something we are insulated from. But the truth is that mental illness, drugs, addiction, depression, or whatever demons that may have been part of this young man's life are not that far from what many people have in their own families and perhaps their own life. My point is, it isn't always the "thug" on TV, or the person the votes "for the other party" or the person who has vastly different values than you do that is involved in something this terrible. Sometimes it the person you sat next to in church last Sunday.

JBlake --- 7 years ago -

such a preventable problem. The one thing that everyone agrees is a fact is that he ran from the cops and fought with the cop. If people stop doing those things, most of these issues will stop.

When it comes to mental illness, someone has to be responsible. If my family member was mentally ill, I would go through the proper channels to get them help, become their legal guardian or have them committed in a facility that could protect them and society. We have no promises that any of these things will be easy but most of us know what to do. We lack the courage to do it and that's fixable.

Jpgirl --- 7 years ago -

Lol JBlake-you say that and it shows you have absolutely no clue when it comes to mental illness. It almost impossible to gain guardianship - ESP in Texas. The courts are not eager to take away a person?s rights and mental illness is NOT a good enough reason to grant guardianship. You have to prove to the court that the person in question is completely incapable of caring for themselves. Most mentally ill people do not meet the criteria. I have a mentally disabled/ developmentally disabled son and he did not qualify as incapable. Does he make poor decisions- yes but that is not good enough in the law?s eyes. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt .

As far as facilities- again you have no clue. Yes there are facilities- better bring your wallet. There are state run ones- the ones for the criminally insane. I believe some of those will house patients who are in a chronic state- but as soon as they become stable they are moved into the community or private pay. Insurance does not cover these facilities- hence your wallet. They run anywhere from 2500- over 10,000 per month. Don?t know about you but I don?t have that kind of money. Right now my son lives in an apartment complex of sorts just for the developmentally disabled/mentally ill. It runs 1100.00 a month. He gets 800.00 a month from SSDI ( he was deemed incapable of holding meaningful employment) - the rest of it comes from a small job he has at the complex and from us.

So before you tell everyone what you would do- you should educate yourself and walk the dark lonely road that many loved ones with mentally ill relatives have to walk every day - Makes ?IT? look like a day at the circus.

So sad for his family!

Zapper009 --- 7 years ago -

Thanks for sharing your heartfelt feelings. Good luck in the future.

JBlake --- 7 years ago -

Jpgirl - nothing wrong with having a different opinion. I guess you just don't know me. I would do whatever it takes to protect my family and to protect everyone else from anyone in my family that might harm theirs. It's my obligation if they can't take care of themselves. I would do anything it takes.
