Anybody here know anything about these things? I bought two new bulbs 48" 32W x 1.5" and they fit perfectly, but only one of them barely burns an the other does not, just like the ones I thought simply burned out. What else could be wrong?

It's easy to roll the pins on one end so that it does not make a connection. Just redo until you feel the pin kinda pop in. If its not the bulbs then probably the ballast, it gives a high voltage jolt then acts as a limiter.

There is a resistor on the end that can be replaced. Home Depot etc., $10 or so Dh says.

I replaced the florescent lights in my garage with three LED 48" stripes (two per strip, 6 lights total) and you'd swear it was the middle of the day when I turn them on at night.

I've also replaced all the light fixtures in the house with LED ... huge difference in lighting.

Me too! I could not believe the difference. Us ol' people need decent lighting and I think LED does it for us.
