I own a side-by-side Samsung.

It has stopped making ice.

I called Samsung and they walked me through the reset process.

It made ice for awhile, then stopped, again.

Still not working...

Anybody on KU have additional suggestions?

THANKS...

Yes, if you don't have a filter on your water line it may be clogged. The water in Houston is really hard and will clog your lines.

Zapper009 --- 8 years ago -

Have a filter, water runs, but frig has stopped making ice.

I'll reset it again tonight, just in case.

POTUS --- 8 years ago -

You should empty all current ice before resetting. Because you should never reset more than once every 24 hours. Unless you dump the current ice first.

Many ice makers have an arm that controls the start/stop. Make sure it is free and not bent. And, yes, empty the tray. Did you try unplugging it?

What is the reset? I have the same fridge with the same problem.

me too! I didn't even know there was reset. Is it hard t do?

Judas --- 8 years ago -

Has line froze up? Common with those fridges.

Not this one, had that happen with the old GE side by side. This one started dumping to much water into the tray.

Well, this is all real...something. I have the Samsung - I had to replace something on the ice maker a few years ago. I believe it was a motor controller .. not sure, but I use Mr. Appliance. It was not at all expensive, and it fixed the problem. Sorry it has been a few years.

I am resetting it tomorrow, again at 8 AM---wish me luck.

Thanks for the great advice from all of you :)

kwgraniteguy and *LOL*...

I'll get this to you tomorrow - after I have verified that it worked...

Thanks,

If you have wster-in-the-door model, check your ice settings. My LG has "Ice Plus" setting for faster ice-msking. But it freezes up my ice maker tray.

Well, it is S----L----O-----W----L----Y making ice. I will try to accelerate the bast**d, or I will call the repair shop on the 5th...

sheddy --- 8 years ago -

Our ice maker stopped making ice last year. We accidentally left the fridge door open for about three hours and it has been making ice ever since!!! Lol

TinktheSprite --- 8 years ago -

This is catchy! I went to get ice and there's NO ice in the ice maker container!!

kwgraniteguy --- 8 years ago -

It's been close to a year since it crapped out. I'm feeling adventurous, I think I'll put it back together and turn the water back on. Buying ice is getting old!

Zapper009 --- 7 years ago -

Now, it makes a few cubes each time I reset it...

Looks like I need a new icemaker installed - GEEEESH...
