I read the other post about how this forum needs redoing and how Kingwood.com is better.

I don't agree and here's why. This forum brings out the truth in people more than the Kingwood.com forum does. Urbunchacats is strong in his views and is balanced by Fuzz. Others want this forum to be about "nice" things and others want this to be where they voice stresses and concerns about more serious topics. And we are all here when we feel like it if we feel like it.
Kingwood.com isn't as real. You have the same characters that have become caricatures of themselves. Donatella telling newcomers what to do, what blogging is "acceptable" and letting everyone know how her status isn't based on intelligence but having been there a long time and knowing Joe.
Retired Engineer being the voice of "reason" but also letting anyone new that goes there know he knows Joe. He constantly "pervs" it up and it is now old shtick.
Joe and his relationship with the regulars is well...regularly thrown in. Not a good model to attract more business. It is a defensive model that is "scared" to lose the regulars.
And I could cite many more. During the election so many of them were crazy, crazy, crazy with Trump love and how amazing he would be. Now they say relatively nothing because let's face it Trump is a joke. Here, we have Urbunchacats that still defends Trump unabashadly though some may not like it.

The best of Kingwood.com is Beastmode and Mulmye because they aren't blah,blah,blah.

So, here's to KU where people are real, real, real and I think their great!! And, that includes Tink the Sprite who has fought the good fight to change the tone of the forum. 

You are preaching to the choir. We came from there a longgggg time ago, think Joey is girly and his apostles sychophantish and a huge turnoff.

As ugly as it gets in here, as tiring as it is to listen to the bickering, as boring as forum in-fighting is, at least here we are not censored (for the most part) and disageement is allowed to take place. At the other place, if a discussion even gets close to warm, not even heated you'll be booted off simply for having an opinion.

It's just weird that there is a "competition." The inter webs are a huge place with no end in sight, and yet a small town like this is going to compete between two tiny message boards?? It just goes to show you how WEIRD and clannish people can be.

There was a third forum in Kingwood that lasted awhile, back when forums wer becoming a polular thing. It was called "Kingwood Porch" or sonething friendly like that? Already Nextdoor is trying to censor members in efforts to keep discussion to a minimum. It's a disservice when forums censor or restrict discussion. Its also a shame that forum members act in a manner where monitoring and moderating is required. I belong to several forums where adukts agree to disagree accepting that tgere are more than one way to view things. JMHO Both of our local Kingwood forums have their own issues. 

It is real. Nobody holds back here. Plus being a libertarian here is pretty cool because when the left is talking trash about the right I can hop in and agree and when the right is talking trash about the left I can hop in and agree so I pretty much make friends all the way around!

I just wish they used a different forum layout for KU. It looks like this site was designed by a chimpanzee. 

Agree. KU needs done modernization as far as its layout and programming (is that the word?) Is concerned. Its definitely Old School.

Trust me, I get it all the time. I've got a couple buddies who get frustrated with me because I will NOT waiver. They all ran off and voted for Trump and I was like, "NOPE!"

Every policy topic that comes up I'm like, "DUDE...it's already in the constitution." That's usually the appropriate answer for EVERY "what about this" question that comes up lol 

I became a Libertarian in college due to an awesome Econ teacher. But, the more I hung around the Libertarian crowd after college I found them to be pretentious and boring. They are like the Simpson's comic book guys of politics. So now I guess I am just a conservative.

As for KW.com. That place makes me feel a kid, stuck at the dining room table listening to old people talk about boring topics. Like what's for supper tomorrow night.

The best part Oregon is the coast and Mt. Hood and Sisters area. Too bad the weather is only nice for months out of the year to enjoy it.
