Anyone have any idea what's going on at Starplex? The fire alarms are going off but there is only one fire truck and at least 6 cops. The parking lot has been evacuated. 

I saw a post on FB that there's been a bomb threat. 

I was wondering the same thing...does anyone know what happened for sure?

The Houston Bomb Squad has cleared the scene of a possible explosive device that caused the theater on Northpark in Kingwood to be evacuated.

Turns out the gas company left some metering equipment on the gas meter in back of the theater, which appeared to be a backpack from a distance, causing those who spotted it to think someone may be planning to blow up the theater.

It is now confirmed to have been a false alarm.

We had friends there with small kids. Very scary. Glad it was just a false alarm! 

I am happy to know all is safe. More happy to know that people are not being complacent and have their eyes and ears open to things like this. We are dealing with many crazy things in this world today. It is imperative not to dwell on negativity, but to be aware of our surroundings at all times for the unusual.
