Does anyone know if they closed down i drove by today and it looks closed

Brewgirl --- 8 years ago -

Yes, sadly, Reeves has closed. I think it's completely empty now. Good bye and thank you to a Kingwood institution.

did they relocate??

Miss Understanding --- 8 years ago -

This is horrible but they had a horrible location. Where is the closest furniture refinisher now?

TinktheSprite --- 8 years ago -

Reeve's will be sorely missed! We've made several purchases from them over the years. I am sure the 2 floods this year did a number to them! I recall seeing the piles of water-destroyed furniture tossed outside. Then only to have it washed away with yet another flood. That's tough on any business!

Can any one recomend?

GrannyX5 --- 8 years ago -

I went by there when the workers were clearing it out. They were under the impression that the store moved and gave me a phone number that they thought might be the new number. I have not attempted to call it yet, buy will do so asap. Will keep you all posted.

Annie's Mom --- 8 years ago -

Reeves has not relocated but I think some of their workers are going to work elsewhere. I'll find out.

I'd like to know. I thought I read they were retiring?

That is correct, I read an article the son wrote and the last floods were just too much to recover from. Gofundme raised some money but not enough and I guess insurance did not cover enough to recover.

Gofundme

If these funds were not used for their intended purpose - do the people that use them have to report that as income.

Can it be spent legally for other things?

I read that they have to be reported as income anyway. Gofundme sends out 1099 forms to the receipents of the funds from what I understand.
