I have a microchip, but I am really tired of paying a fortune for test after test after test and hearing that "the last one could have be false positive" and leaving $300 plus dollars lighter every time.

heartworms. what is the name of your vet? 

Dr. Umlang. Conroe Vet Clinic is seeing our dog for what has been determined as Epileptic seizures. It's a drive up 1314 almost all the way to Hwy 105. But worth it. And I love him! Dr. Umlang sends all tests to A&M for a second opinion. Unfortunately for our little dog, they concurred his diagnosis. Last visit: $15 Office visit $37 Phenobarbitol elixir. 

Not everyone is unemployed and can drive an hour each way to Conroe to save a few bucks. 

Not sure they meant for that to be as you state, just gave their vet info. Pick if you can use, or not... 

We didn't go to Conroe to save money, Hippie. That is just a perk for us. Dr. Umlang came highly recommended to us for our dog breed. We needed a second opinion for our dog who continued to have seizures after treatment locally. I find the local vets to be somewhat lacking in specialties and often stupid expensive. I appreciate that Dr. Umlang chooses to seek A&M for his second opinion. I will drive anywhere for my pets as they are part of my family. You must be on this thread Hippie to save money as the subject line must have attracted you to save money. I only added to and shared my perk in this hijack to further save money if someone wished to do so. Obviously you do not. He probably doesn't specialize in your mutt but I know this vet would be happy to see him. And as far as my employment status, that's noneya.

DHPP (Vaccination is an important line of defense against serious canine diseases. The DHLPP protects against distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza and parvovirus. Each of these diseases can cause illness, possibly death and are highly contagious. The DHLPP vaccine is administered to puppies at four-week intervals and on a yearly basis to adult dogs.)
Bordetella (Canine Bordetella vaccinations prevent your dog from catching the highly contagious airborne disease also called "kennel cough." Dogs that are around crowds of other dogs, such as in kennels or at dog parks, should get this non-core vaccination to prevent the potential uncomfortable coughing and secondary infections. ($5.00)
