Tonight my husband set his bag, which contained among other things, his macbook computer, on his trunk while he put our daughter in her car seat. He of course forgot about it and drove off. Flew off somewhere along North Park. Someone out for a run found it, looked inside and figured it must belong to someone at the church down the road. Took the time to take it the church and find someone to give it to. Looks like it got run over at least once, but despite a really screwed up screen, it still turns on and looks like he can recover his data. Thank you to whoever you are for being a good person and taking the time to do the right thing! It's a reminder that there are still good people in the world. Hope lots of good karma finds you!

Awesome to know there are still good people in this world! Kudos to whoever returned it.

I once found an iPhone on a chair at a Starbucks, and brought it up to the baristas to hang onto if the owner came to retrieve it. They looked at me in disbelief, then commented how most people would bring them to game stop for cash. Ugh.

I've found and turned in jewelry, countless times- and I've had my purse turned in from grocery store parking lots- people are more honest than you think!

Hey! That was my husband that found the computer while he was out on his walk. He's a good guy, I'll let him know about this thread!

I dropped my wallet at Walmart years ago and someone turned it in. I went to the bathroom at HEB and there was a ring on the toilet paper container. I took it to a cashier trying to find out who I needed to give it to. She immediately started discribing it to me and said she had just left it and her boyfriend would kill her if she lost it. I was dying to know why she took the ring off to go to the bathroom. If your husband had bought the computer at best buy and bought the insurance, they would have fixed it up like new. Both of my kids have had screens replace.

Thanks for the input Sheddy...he bought it directly from Apple, so he is off to the Apple store later today! SwimSwim-Aw, I am so glad this thread reached your husband. Please tell him THANK YOU again. He has no idea how much this means to us. The computer was not as big of a deal as what was on it. Another reminder to BACK UP YOUR STUFF! Anyway, never underestimate the power of a simple act of kindness. It may not seem like much to you, but it can mean the world to someone else.
