I wish Galveston was clean .. Now we have to worry about flesh eating bacteria :( 

There have been small shark sightings in the canals through Tiki Island. No more jumping off the balcony for my kids. It was bad enough with the alligator gars. My husband has a gnarly scar from an encounter with one.

I used to love to visit the gulf...now, not so much.

My mom was born on the island, I grew up on the island and took my first steps there, my dad lives on the island, and I have a house on Tiki Island. My great-grandpa's house still stands on 51st St.
I love that funky, dirty, beautiful place!! 

I grew up LOVING the Island where the parental units owned a beach house. Now the public beaches are disgusting and the water has FECAL BACTERIA! I no longer go there. It's a cry'n shame!!! 

Like washed posted, now is the gators! How strange this year turns out to be! 

Galveston has such amazing potential! But then so do sooo many places in the Houston areas as does our very own San Jacinto River area.

The bacteria has been cleared up. This happens not only in Galveston, but many beaches all over the world. I still love Galveston and enjoy going there. We are so fortunate to live so close to the beach, great getaway for fun and relaxation. 

If you get away from Galveston and just go down the coast a little it is much better. Galveston has so many people in the water no wonder they have to clear it up every so often. The area is still the best view of water for many miles.
There's always been sharks out there but it seems this year they are catching more fishing. My son grew up in that water and has no health issues at all but you couldn't get me to go further than I can see my feet!
