Grrrrr.

Seriously? You can't close school BEFORE you let us know that KHS is without power? Humble ISD is so hard up for money that they have to make sure that KHS gets awarded their state money at the inconvenience to parents and students?

Morons.

Maybe they received bad info from Centerpointe or whoever takes care of the lines.

Don't know they just didn't continue on with school.

Had to hold school until a certain time so they could collect the state $$$$ for the day. If they don't hold attendance for the first 2 periods. They don't get paid by the state.

Grrrrr

Morons as I said above.

Hummmm....so you want to make up the day?

coach'sgirl --- 10 years ago -

I'm sure they anticipated it coming back on.

When the power goes out, no matter the time of day, if it doesn't come back on after a certain amount of time, kids are sent home.

KPark lost power today and those kids were begging to go home. But, as in most cases, it came back on. Imagine the uproar of parents if they were asked to come get their kids!

Schools....can't win.

Don't kid yourself. They didn't send the kids home at KPHS because center point knew they would come back online quickly.

KHS knew theirs was not a quick fix--from center point energy. They chose instead to let all the kids come in anyway.

Yes, money. That was the reason.

They knew the power was out at KHS BEFORE the kids even got to school. Humble ISD knew. They just wanted the money. It's sad. Yes, money was the reason.
