Isn't he gorgeous? Just walking down the side of the road like he owned it! I didn't know we had Peacocks around here!

Miss Understanding --- 10 years ago -

I'm sure the surrounding habitat destruction has driven them here. Wait till he starts squealing at 3AM to reproduce. Tell us how much you like him then. ;-)

marthas attic (Mod) --- 10 years ago -

My neighbor had them in her trees and thought they were beautiful until the noise came. They are very loud.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 10 years ago -

I guess you can be noisey and beautiful. Must be a female. :)

They have areas in Ca that have a large population of them in various neighborhoods. People love having them strolling their streets and sunning in their front yards. So cool.

Texashley28 --- 10 years ago -

Neat!

Miss Understanding --- 10 years ago -

Must be a female.

Um, no. This is a peaCOCK not a peaHEN.

mutton --- 10 years ago -

Thought males were the noisy ones...lol.

Quicksilver Messenger Service --- 10 years ago -

Clearly against deed restrictions.....supposed to be on a leash.......

mutton --- 10 years ago -

lol

ATXmom --- 10 years ago -

Are we being invaded? A friend saw a guy trying to catch one on the feeder road up 59 (northbound). Where would they be coming from?

TinktheSprite --- 10 years ago -

How cool is that?!

squirtismyboy --- 10 years ago -

Just saw him in real life a few blocks away from the Greentree village park.

freebyrdll --- 10 years ago -

Can they fly?

squirtismyboy --- 10 years ago -

This one got up on a roof top so I think so

freebyrdll --- 10 years ago -

Maybe we have a breeder in the area that isn't aware of that??!??

RedMulch --- 10 years ago -

Is he/she microchipped?

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 10 years ago -

Yes, Mulch, by God! Lol

RedMulch --- 10 years ago -

They could be. Especially if they are expensive animals. Grab him (I have decided it is a "him" take him to a vet.

I mean, you will have to have your car totally reupholstered, but what the hay?

Texashley28 --- 10 years ago -

Clearly against deed restrictions.....supposed to be on a leash.......?

Lol!

them --- 10 years ago -

Well yall have been looking for Porter...

Jpgirl --- 10 years ago -

There some that live in Duessen park - and there was a flock that lived up off 1485

jennycrocker --- 10 years ago -

I saw the peacock too! It was near the Tae Kwon do studio on Mills Branch and when I stopped to take a picture, it crossed in front of my car toward Greentree.

agent009 --- 10 years ago -

Someone should catch it before it gets hit by a car. I will if I see it! But what to do with it? Keep it? lol :-)

witchywoman --- 10 years ago -

It's a wild bird, people. Let it be.

I'm sure they lived here naturally but are being uprooted by all the new construction.

Leila --- 10 years ago -

Peacocks in the Houston area

a889324uu --- 10 years ago -

They are great guard animals. Nearly every show barn I've been to has a few.

itstxdaddy --- 10 years ago -

I'm sure they lived here naturally but are being uprooted by all the new construction.

psst...they were uprooted by old construction as well.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 10 years ago -

I'm sure you guys are right about them being displaced. This one was walking down Mills Branch right down the street from where they are clearing the area for new homes. Breaks my heart. I know animals adjust eventually, but it's still heartbreaking to see it. He looked so lonely. Birds are flock animals and I'm sure he had a flock at one time.

itstxdaddy --- 10 years ago -

I'm sure he had a flock at one time.

It was probably seagulls.

freebyrdll --- 10 years ago -

Will that get you a flock of "peagulls"
or seacocks??!"

RW19 --- 10 years ago -

I saw it walking down Crystal Falls this morning when I was on my run.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 10 years ago -

There might be more than one around here, in fact, it's likely.
