Does anyone here have a great recommendation for a doctor ?

My husband needs to see a doctor about blood pressure etc. not sure if I should call a general doctor or a specialist. New to this type of issue. 

How high is his pressure?

My cardiologist at St. Lukes Heart Center treats the high blood pressure. However, your primary care physician should be able to treat it.

Beware the pills have side effects.

Your PCP should be able to evaluate and treat, as well as educate your husband on diet, stress relief, etc. I would start there if your spouse is otherwise healthy. Your PCP will refer spouse to specialist, if indicated. Also, have your spouse monitor his blood pressure daily and write down the readings. Having that info is very helpful to docs!

We have been here a couple of years and have only used Urgent Care so I now need PCP recommendations. Please. :-)
