Has the media pointed the finger at Al Sharpton for inciting the "revenge" cop murders in New York?

whatchamacallit --- 10 years ago -

No, and you and everyone else knows why.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 10 years ago -

There was a March in Manhattan, where the crows was chanting " what do we want? Dead cops- when do we want it- now-" IMO, after the cop killing, They should be arrested-

Wow...

The black community needs to get back the traditional family and church. When Obama is finally out of office this Country and start healing.

DeBlasio needs to be held accountable for this one, as well.

FANCY PANTS --- 10 years ago -

To bad the blacks can not see that they are being used, held back, and held down by the Sharptons of this country. They do not seem to have the ability to filch through the hate that is put out there by them.

No, the media will not connect the dots for the sheeple. They will sweep this under the rug and hide it as long as they can. Maybe what they want is for all cops to step down so that the military can take over their jobs. What a way to control all Americans?

SoupIsGoodFood --- 10 years ago -

Wouldn't be surprised to see a massive "sick-day" by NYPD on Christmas and NYE.

sunshine1881 --- 10 years ago -

The problem is so many people don't see people as individuals anymore. It's all about labels and what those labels mean. We've been conditioned to think, and make judgements based on those labels instead of seeing an individual and assigning their actions to them and them alone. We think, that black guy robbed that store, so all black guys are thugs. Or, that white cop choked that that one guy, so all cops must be bad.

That mentality is bread by the Sharptons and Jesse Jackson's of the world, but on the other side, your Rush Limbaughs, Sean Hannititys, Glen Becks and Michael Berrys of the world are just as guilty.

FANCY PANTS --- 10 years ago -

your Rush Limbaughs, Sean Hannititys, Glen Becks and Michael Berrys of the world are just as guilty.?

That is very weak! Rush, Hannitity, Beck and Berry never tell people they should go out and kill. They do tell people they need to have their eyes open and know what their government is doing.

sunshine1881 --- 10 years ago -

Sharpton and Jackson never tell people to go out and kill either.

But they breed the us against them mentality, just like Rush, Hannity, Beck, etc. The distrust of other who aren't like you. The distrust of authority. A lack of respect for others and their differing opinions.

It's the same damn message just being sent by opposite sides.

them --- 10 years ago -

I don't recall any of those you listed on the right advocating violence.

them --- 10 years ago -

It's the same damn message just being sent by opposite sides.?

That's what MSNBC is telling you think.

Al Sharpton obviously has a guilty conscience about what happened.

sunshine1881 --- 10 years ago -

Funny, I don't watch MSNBC, ever!

But, you just did exactly what I was talking about. I hold an opinion that differs from your's, therefore, I must be a member of a group you do not associate with and which you have been told is "bad" or "wrong". I am an individual. I have and form my own opinions, and only I am responsible for them. Don't try to pin them on some group so you can label and discount it without even thinking about it.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 10 years ago -

your Rush Limbaughs, Sean Hannititys, Glen Becks and Michael Berrys of the world are just as guilty.?

What a ridiculous illinformed comment. Non of those mentioned above are race baiters who profit from racial divide.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 10 years ago -

The distrust of authority

We are Americans, we should all distrust government authority.

sunshine1881 --- 10 years ago -

What a ridiculous illinformed comment. Non of those mentioned above are race baiters who profit from racial divide.

They use socio-economic status to veil the racist undertones, but it's all the same thing.

Jackson/Sharpton: "The white folks are holding us back. We have to stand up and demand our fair share."

Rush/Sean/Glen, etc: "The poor folks are holding us back. We have to stand up and demand our fair share."

them --- 10 years ago -

Source?

jacobson --- 10 years ago -

They use socio-economic status to veil the racist undertones, but it's all the same thing.

That is absolute nonsense.

Rush/Sean/Glen, etc: "The poor folks are holding us back. We have to stand up and demand our fair share."

More nonsense. They say "The liberals and their policies are holding the country back."

Work in Progress --- 10 years ago -

Yeah, that isn't their message at all Sunshine. Instead, their message is that rich white liberals are the ones holding back the poor. And they are spot on.

Work in Progress --- 10 years ago -

And this witch hunt for "racial undertones" is what got those innocent cops in New York killed. It's time to stop the hate. You go around accusing people of having "racial undertones" because you have no actual evidence of racism. But facts don't matter to those with an inquisition mindset. We all MUST be guilty of racism, so you look for it in undertones.

Do you really not understand how flipping crazy that is?

SoupIsGoodFood --- 10 years ago -

Better review those talking points for accuracy, sunshine. You're all over the place with this one.

jacobson --- 10 years ago -

Funny, I don't watch MSNBC, ever!

You also don't listen to Rush/Sean/Glen, etc.

Work in Progress --- 10 years ago -

Lol, that's obvious!

Joe Blow --- 10 years ago -

You all just prove Sunshine's point.

Sunshine speaks of "us against them" mentality, and look what everyone's doing- we need to realize we're all Americans, not one party or another-

sunshine1881 --- 10 years ago -

Better review those talking points for accuracy, sunshine. You're all over the place with this one.

Because there are no talking points. I form my own opinions, and the fact that they don't line up with any of your labeled groups is my point exactly.

You also don't listen to Rush/Sean/Glen, etc.

Far more than I do MSNBC. I actually like to understand what various people think.

Sunshine speaks of "us against them" mentality, and look what everyone's doing- we need to realize we're all Americans, not one party or another-

You all just prove Sunshine's point.

And the sad part is they don't even see it. They are doing the exact same thing they accuse "liberals" of.

them --- 10 years ago -

You all just prove Sunshine's point.

I'd take her seriously if the subtext of each post wasn't "you're stupid for having a different opinion".

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 10 years ago -

so much divisiveness between people- how will we ever bring our country together, when we keep tearing each other down?

sunshine1881 --- 10 years ago -

I'd take her seriously if the subtext of each post wasn't "you're stupid for having a different opinion".

That is not in any way my intent. If me making a point based on my own opinion makes you feel that way, perhaps it has far more to do with your perception of your own stance than with anything I said.

them --- 10 years ago -

Thanks for proving my point, honey.

The fact is that black Americans are 21 TIMES more likely to be killed by the police than a white. That alone says it all. So only a fool would say that there is no problem of racism in police use of deadly force.

The killing of a black man in Walmart for holding a toy rifle is the prime example. The guy did not point it at the cops, or make any other move that could be thought of as a threat. Yet he was shot while he was talking on his cell phone. To make matters worse, they took his wife into custody and accused HER of committing a crime for a couple of hours as they tried to get her to "confess" to the idea he had a real gun. Then cops kill a 12 year old kid who the cops ran up to and shot out of hand with no warning. Then they handcuff and take his sister into custody as her brother is bleeding to death. Those murders should be the object of outrage too!

Work in Progress --- 10 years ago -

Randy, you are too smart to hold a naive position that doesn't take anything else into account other than the big ole boogeyman of "racism". It's McCarthyism. Oh noes! It's a racists! Racism here! Racism there! Racism everywhere!

If you aren't actually saying or doing anything racist, we'll accuse you of subtext and thought crime! You disagree with us! Must be a racist! You stopped a criminal! Must be a racist! You don't like the President, must be a racist!!!!

You can see the fruit of this witch hunt you've been ginning up for decades now. Everyone is guilty. Everyone is suspicious!

This is sheer insanity.

Work in Progress --- 10 years ago -

If you want to have a reasonable discussion about certain cases where cops handled something wrong, that is a conversation worth having. I'm actually quite disturbed by the Garner case. But it wasn't racism.

You pull that card and you've lost. You've cried wolf too many times and we see that the whole point is destroy race relations that were improving until liberals figured out that they can't win on facts and policies, so they have to create bogeymen.

them --- 10 years ago -

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton make a living from "racism". As a matter of fact, they've become millionaires thanks to "racism".
