As the title says I'm looking for odd jobs to support/save money for my unborn daughter, girlfriend, and myself until I'm able to find a full time job. I'm willing to do anything....legal that is. :) I'm willing put up Christmas lights, mow the grass, rake leaves, help someone paint, help someone make repairs around the house, be a gopher, etc. whatever it takes. I'm sure there are tons of other things I could do. I don't want a handout I just need work. So if you have something that needs to be done just call me or my girlfriend. We sure would appreciate it! My name is Dustin and my number is 281-460-6204. My girlfriend is Lyannah and her number is 281-732-5656. If she does not answer text her please, she might be working. Thanks!!

There are oodles of "help wanted" signs in local store windows. I will start paying closer attention for you & post. Hopefully others here might do the same. :). Best of luck to you.

Sath --- 10 years ago -

You're in Houston, only way you can't find a job is if you aren't looking

lyadus1997 --- 10 years ago -

Thanks for the replies. I've been looking on craigslist and dropping off resumes. Not much of a resume being only 18 but you have to start some where. :)

Emperor of Kingwood --- 10 years ago -

Can you drive? Do you have any training in anything?

I think I saw a sign at Chelsea's Deli on Kingwood drive. Good luck!

mutton --- 10 years ago -

Glad you are looking and not requesting hand out. Hope you find something! Will keep eyes out...

mutton --- 10 years ago -

Meant eyes open...

Kayry --- 10 years ago -

I think both Randall's, front and back of KW are hiring, Petsmart, Petco are always hiring. I imagine a lot of seasonal help is needed at Lowes, Home Depot, the Post Office, UPS and on and on.

Good luck and good on you for stepping up at such a young age to try and take care of your young family!

Poster knows how to network. Good luck lyadus1997...What is it you WANT to do? Since your scope is wide open for opportunities. I wonder if KU could find a MOD spot for a little $

*LOL* --- 10 years ago -

You need to contact HAMM (Humble Area Assistance Ministries). They will help you with your immediate needs and they also assist with job seeking. Their goal is self sufficiency but they want to help get you on your feet and make that possible .

Is your girlfriend getting prenatal care? There is assistance for that too if needed.

Kayry --- 10 years ago -

To add to the HAAM option, also, Mission North East.

lyadus1997 --- 10 years ago -

@Emperor of Kingwood - Yes I drive however my girlfriend and I share a car but we have friends that can help her get to and from work. Some skills are I'm capable to do tune ups on cars, tire rotations, change parts on cars like starters, rebuilding cars, and other stuff like that on cars, I'm also willing to learn other things. I've always had a hobby of putting in car stereos, amps, speakers, woofers, etc. I was fortunate to work at a plant once for a turn around has a helper. No luck getting back on.
@mutton - Thanks mutton I like to work for my stuff

Ok, call a company called Austin Industrial and tell them you are looking for an entry level position in one of their facilities in which they have a contract. You have to be drug free and no felonies.

lyadus1997 --- 10 years ago -

Thanks Emperor, I will do that!

Emperor of Kingwood --- 10 years ago -

Ask them about positions called dumpers.

lyadus1997 --- 10 years ago -

Ok, I just looked and there appears to be only lead positions, not really sure though.

lyadus1997 --- 10 years ago -

Emperor - Nothing on the job board for "dumper" (what is that anyways), nor contract, searched both ways, then for everything in Deer Park and Houston

April --- 10 years ago -

Walmart tire dept., any auto parts stores.

Butterbean --- 10 years ago -

Sign in Porter Home depot today. Hiring.

I'm sure it'll require a drug test.

mutton --- 10 years ago -

Funny how drug test mentioned, twice...

I_won't_tell --- 10 years ago -

Why in this position?

Ready - Fire

Oops forgot to Aim!

Emperor of Kingwood --- 10 years ago -

Any half decent job will require a drug test, especially in an industrial environment.

Oregonian --- 10 years ago -

Even if you must submit to a drug test and pass it you are not safe. Most companies want to make sure you are not prone to any type of accident that would put them in a liable position. Have and accident and you are going to have another drug test for sure.

There are adds all over for jobs...like Walmart for instance. good luck young lady.

Workforce Solutions on 1960 by Olive Garden. It's the name of the Unemployment Office these days. They'll find you work fast.

Do you have a reliable car?

idontplaynice --- 10 years ago -

Things will never settle. You will be caught in a vicious cycle. Every year you put off a college education, it becomes exponentially harder to start. Get a degree in civil engineering. It is the easiest of the engineering fields.

lyadus1997 --- 10 years ago -

Got a job!

But now my girlfriend needs one. She can babysit, Clean houses, etc.

Pondering --- 10 years ago -
