My husband has reluctantly agreed to try hearing aids. Has anyone had experience with a local hearing aid supplier?

what??

kidding....my mom went through the motions on hearing aids and only the one she got through her ENT doctor (that cost a small fortune) worked well....her Dr is Sally Shu and offices at memorial herman humble..they have all the testing equipment and are very thorough...it wasn't cheap, but it works quite well..

Be sure and get plenty of good recommendations before you go with someone. My mom's aunt and my mother in law both tried hearing aids and neither were able to adjust them. They ended up frustrated and out a lot of money. I know there are wonderful people out there, but I also know there are people out there trying to make a fast buck.

Beltone has been good for me...and mine ARE adjustable. Doesn't he have insurance available to cover the cost?

My favorite t-shirt has the phrase
"No, I'm not deaf. I am just ignoring you!"

My husband got his last pair at Costco and is very happy with them. They work for his hearing loss but I'm not sure they are a good fit for everyone. They are reasonable in price. The technology has really improved over the past several years.
