I need a really good trim, clean up, mulching recommendation.

I don't want the cheapest where they just come through and whack at everything and rake. Been there, done that.

I am willing to pay for a professional looking job. I probably need a few shrubs replaced too.

I am going to have my yards completely re-landscaped in the near future but until I have the time to consider that I just want a nice spring refresher.

Please don't suggest I do it myself. I am unable to. Thanks

If you find someone, please let me know. I am in a similar situation.

Brian Hougen Landscaping - 832-731-6520. He has a college degree and does fabulous work. We have used him for 12 years.

I noticed several of my neighbors are using Executive Lawn Care - their yard and beds look good.

If you know of a college/high school kid that can use some extra money - you're going to save a ton. I got 2 quotes for my gardens - one was 600 the other was 950. I bought 3 yards of mulch from Dirt Cheap in Kingwood (with delivery it was $117) and I spent the day spreading it out myself.
If you find a good kid to do it for $100 - Win/Win!

Paying a "college mid" is pennywise and pound foolish. Pay for someone who is bonded and insured....or make sure you have a good insurance policy.

Pennywise and pound foolish...For pulling weeds and spreading mulch? I would say you're right if we were talking about anything having to do with a ladder or electrical equipment, but that's a little much.

I know some boys that will do it! 3 of them live with me and they have friends...they normally work for $10/hr per boy with a minimum of $30 each.

They have experience with this too, just tell them what you want done and they will do it.

PM me if interested!

$10/hr per boy with a minimum of $30 each

That's higher than min wage for students? With the three of them that is a minimum job of $90/3 hours. For a decent job in an average size yard, it could take a full crew of landscapers 6-8 hours to spread mulch only. @6 hours, $180 for labor plus average 5 yards of mulch@ $130= $311. And that is just calculations for mulching. Just saying. ETA The $600 estimate from the professional doesn't sound half bad now?

Thanks for the ideas. I definitely want a professional job this time. I have gone budget before and while it cleans things up, it doesn't have the polished look I want this time around. I also would want this person to be knowledgeable enough to keep me input on future landscaping remodeling.

I just had new sod laid in my front lawn and will be getting a french drain and resod for the back yard. Salas Landscaping, talk to Jr., is thorough and knowledgeable and knows how to landscape...leveling is meticulous and great suggestions for greenery. I've only seen pics of his flagstone & pavers work, but it is beautiful! Can't wait for mine to be complete. New mulch, beds and rock yet to come. Call Jr. at 832-306-0053.
