Can someone explain to me if Assembly of God church is the same thing as a Pentecostal church?

jtcitrus --- 11 years ago -

Depends,
are you enunciating that as:
stupid religion-question?
or as:
stupid-religion question?

the difference will affect the comments.

The AOG has been long identified with anti-semitism, especially in its belief--taught in Sunday school to its children that the Jews deserved to be slaughtered because they deny Christ. This very dangerous belief is predicated on a ministerial dictate which ascribes God's will to Hitler and Nazi Germany, and likens Israel to the "whore of Babylon" that will continue to bring God's wrath and destruction until the day it accepts God's son. They are also strongly anti-Catholic.

The AOG believes that Israel's and the Jewish people's total destruction is an inevitable event unless the Jews repent their "disbelief."

Not only is the "mainstream" AOG a cult, it is spawning dangerous splinter groups which seek a Christian revolution in America. These splinter groups are being monitored by the Southern Poverty Law Center as part of it’s mission to keep track of hate groups.

In addition to its staunch anti-catholicism, the AOG has been long identified with anti-semitism, especially in its belief--taught in sunday school to its children (see Berger's Fathoming the Holocaust)--that the Jews deserved to be slaughtered because they deny Christ. This very dangerous belief is predicated on a ministerial dictate which ascribes God's will to Hitler and Nazi Germany, and likens Israel to the "whore of Babylon" that will continue to bring God's wrath and destruction until the day it accepts God's son.

Not only is the "mainstream" AOG a cult, it is spawning dangerous splinter groups which seek a Christian revolution in America. It is spawning dangerous splinter groups according to the Southern Poverty Law Center and its continuing monitoring of hate groups. http://www.splcenter.org/...
