We want to go to Hawaii in the fall and need some info. We want to rent a house on the North Shore of Oahu for about 10 days. I've looked at a ton of properties online but the one thing I'm coming up against is the lack of AC in a lot of the properties. I know people will say you don't need it but I'm doubtful. I've checked the average temps and they don't seem to vary from the low 70's to the mid 80's. I could probably do without it during the day but at night I can't imagine sleeping in the heat and humidity. So, for those who have been and like it cool at night, what's your opinion? Will we be miserable? 

I have stayed in Hawaii three times. Twice at a hotel. Once in a bungalow that was privately owned. It has been in the spring though. The breeze off the island made it comfortable. The fans definitely helped. But, if I had a choice, I would have a/c for the night,for the fall. JMO. 

I lived there for two years...we didn't have AC...didn't need it.
