We almost bought a house there with legend homes. The good thing is th tax rate and it is attached to oakhurst. Your homeowners ins will be cheaper also because it is Montgomery county. We had to let go of the house we were building because we found a foreclosed home that we couldn't let go. We were in love with the neighborhood my biggest upset was that it is new caney schools. 

new caney schools i can tell you they are good schools my son went through prek - 12 and i loved new caney schools.

Congrats to you guys!! Can you have horses there? The "trail" word kinda got to me..:P 

We bought in here almost a year ago. We were told 2.7 tax rate but have been hit with a "defined area tax" increase of 1%. And they want to make it retro-active, making every ones notes go up several hundred. Needless to say we have been having a lot of meetings and if you were not told about this as most of us were not, then you better ask about it. Things will be changing. Friendswood Development is trying to pay us off with a offers to pay this year and next but since it was not disclosed to any of us, we won't be settling. It's not gonna be pretty. But besides all that we love the area...
