bruiserbetty* --- 16 years ago -

20 a lesson. it is a FULL 30 minute lesson.

ilovemykids1030 --- 16 years ago -

hmm. how old is ur child and is he\her interested in giving lessons?? lol! sorry, im cheap and i know it. is that 30 mins a week? one day a week?

bruiserbetty* --- 16 years ago -

how old is ur child 11, and he is just starting. i had him going once a week, but took a break for the past couple of weeks due to the holiday. my deal with him is. i will pay for one lesson every other week, but he has to practice on his own and work hard. with all his other activities, the once a week was getting to be a lot. i think it is worth it, but shop around. i think it is all up to how many you want to have.

yeah, i think ill keep looking around. we have tons of sports also. so when baseball starts up, there wont be much time. unless they give lessons at like 4 in the afternoon...cause that would really be the only time. and even that is hard, cause i normally need to have dinner on the table by 430 so we can get to practice-games on time. im thinking once a week would be good. its something that hes testing the waters with and i dont want to invest a whole lot into it, till i know hes committed to it.

give lessons at like 4 in the afternoon... that is when my son goes. i hope you find a good one :) i am thrilled my kid wants to play guitar. he has always been a solid athlete and was only interested in sports, so for him to branch out into music was a good thing in my mind. report back after a while with an update, i am curious to see how it goes...good luck.

i am thrilled my kid wants to play guitar. he has always been a solid athlete and was only interested in sports, so for him to branch out into music was a good thing in my mind. we do baseball, football and i think we are gonna try swim team this summer. im all for him doing some sort of music, cause i want him to be well rounded. if hes gonna be the president one day, he needs to know these types of things! (we aim high around here! lol). ill let u know how it goes, thanks for all the info!

I myself play the guitar. It's a relaxing time for me. After a hard day at the office, a glass of wine and good acoustical music does it everytime.

Fin and Feather --- 16 years ago -

This is a great gift to give that can last a lifetime, I haven’t personally tried lessons from Brian but know of one who has and the kid is golden.. When the season is over and time allows I might have to sign myself up for a few.

For adults I always advise going to free tab sites and get the basic chords down first (Personal favorite is chordie.com.), but a younger brew might need some one on one advice to get the basics down.

I have been a guitar teacher for over a decade now. I teach adults too but children fill up most of my schedule. I try to make the lessons more convienent by coming to your house for the lessons. I have refernces and a website you can check out at www.mikesguitarlessons.com. If you are interested my email is michaelcheek@hotmail.com.
