I was buying a gift a couple of days ago at that little childrens store, mommy to be and me and i suppose they thought the store was empty, while i was shopping on the other side and i over heard the women saying that kingwood people are cheap and humble people are cheap and trashy. at that moment i put my items down and left the that they would consider us cheap, i suppose because some people don't want to spend and arm and a leg on a outfit that your kid will grow out of in a few months. at least that is how my 4 year old boy grows. but never the less i was deeply offended. 

I would have be too. I would have had to say something like, I am taking my cheap ass and leaving now , as i put the items in my hands on the counter.

im just going to stick to gymboree or go to the little baby store in old town spring for the nicer things. they have always been nice and helpful to me at those places. and besides there stuff at mommy to be is way overpriced and some of the clothes are an eyesore(big girl clothes) i have a seven year old girl and i wouldn't have 100 dollars for some tacky crap 

i'm just never going there again if i'm not appreciated and told we are cheap 

I was there once and didn't buy anything. I was just looking but I wasn't treated that nice. I guess I didn't look nice enough. I felt like a cheap person when I left. 

The same people who own the Apple Tree Kids store own a store in Spring. Is that the same one you were talking about in Old Town? I haven't been to Mommy to Bee and Me, but I've been wanting to go and see their things. They are the only store near here that carries Pedipeds. But after what you just said, I won't be going there - ever. 

yeah she owns them both but somebody else i think is taking over apple tree. i would just order pedi-peds 

That's what I'm going to do. I have seen them on ebay with free shipping and they are asking the same price that the stores are without the tax. Alas, you act like an ass - you'll be out my cash!

I just love the way the pedipeds are made, esp. for early walkers. DD isn't walking yet, but I need to get her some shoes for the holidays. She has Baby Deer mary janes that I got for her at MGR, but she needs red shoes to go with her dress. 

i didn't see any red shoes when i was ...have you tried the mall. even thought its a nightmare this time of the year. dillards has a pretty good selection with the baby stuff

you know i find alot of cute baby stuff and childrens clothes at khols, and they might have some good shoes, they are well priced as well 

And a lot of the time, you can find better deals on the net than you can in the stores because you can comparison shop without walking or driving around all day to do it.

Seriously, I am by no means "cheap" but I have bought one dress there (at 60% off), but come on who would seriously spend 100 dollars on a dress your child can wear for one season? I spend that much on a dress for me, but only if I know it won't go out of style in a year, so I can be sure to get my money out of it.

Personally, I only buy my kids clothes on sale. I would rather put the money in their college funds or go on a vacation than spend that kind of money on one outfit. Also, did you notice the majority of the clothes were made in Indonesia or the Phillipines? For that kind of money I expect quality, you know what I mean? 

oh yeah i bought a dress that said england really big on the tag and i looked closer and it was made in china. and for 90 bucks. my own fault for wasting money. but sometimes you need a special dress. but i'm going to start buying online. 

its not about the clothes i just wish that customers could be treated fairly and not pre-judged at hoity-toity places like that.

Was this the person behind the counter that said this? If it was, I wouldnt be able to contain myself and would have let her have it! That is unreal. SHe has her business amongst the "cheap and trash" and they are her customers! 

I have honestly been in there before and I did find that the person behind the counter was rude to me. 

Are you 100% sure it was an employee saying that? Maybe it was another customer?

I've been a few times to look around - there were never any customers & the staff was not attentive at all! And their merchandise is so outrageously expensive! How do they stay in business in an area where all of their customers are cheap & trashy? Maybe they'll move!
