I feel like I am living in the Ghetto. My husbands truck was broken into a few weeks ago but, I stopped that real fast. But, they got my MIL car last night. So now she is without a car. I HATE THIS NEIGHBORHOOD. You see little wanna be gansta boys waslking the streets all night with their pit bulls on chains. I just hate it. I can't believe how much this area has changed.

No I live in Humble now. I grew up in Kingwood. It was a new neighborhood. We have only been there for 4 years. 

i wish sometimes it was so easy to move. i would love to just pack up and go to another house sometimes. to bad the mortgage company doesn't make it that easy for us...lol. sorry this is happening.

May I ask which neighborhood? We are selling our house and I'm trying to be careful where we go next. Not to sure this "gansta" behavior can be gotten away from out here - it's really a shame!

We have had a lot of things happen in the neighborhood. Did I mention too I saw my house on animal cops? 

I am so sorry for you, Brittany's mom. I will pray that something good will work out for you to have that prayer answered. 

Sorry for your troubles, but I know how you feel. My husband and I moved our family out of our old neighborhood for just the same reason. We never got broken in to, but we NEVER let our kids play outside because there always seemed to be thugs running around, and I thought that was a tragedy. 

Did I mention too I saw my house on animal cops? How can that be sad, as well as cool at the same time?? That is what I was thinking. My girlfriend lived in Kenswick. They moved. They were tired of how their neighborhood as well. I am sorry to hear this, R. 

There are thugs and then those Pit Bulls. Every other house has a pit bull. I hate those dogs they scare me. Well the way they are raised scares me. They are fighting them so I know they would come after my kids. 

People were murdered often in the neighborhood I grew up in, and my parents still live there. 

We moved from our old neighborhood in Atascocita for a lot of the same reasons. When Josh was missing a few weeks ago I found pictures of girls doing drugs at the park of the neighborhood we moved from. It just wasn't what it was almost 9 years ago when we moved there. 

Yep I was sitting at the hospital with my Mom and my brother said hey that looks like your house. And then I said OMG it is my house. A guy down the street had a female Pit that he was fighting. When she didn't perform right he bashed her head in with a brick and shot her in the side. The neighbors called the cops. Then the idiot had it sitting in a box on the corner for days with blood coming out of it. The neighbor (Natu) and I took turns calling the cops until they finally came. It was horrible. 

When we were looking for a house to buy we looked in Kenswick Forest and others in that area. Everytime I would go over there it was great. It was always in the daytime though. Then someone told me to go after 5 when more people are home and we saw alot of gangsta looking people. We decided on KW instead. I hope something works out for you. 

Also, I don't know how many times we have caught someone in our garage.

I think the country sounds nicer and nicer all the time! LOL! I grew up in Huffman and it was soooo much fun there! 

I think it is all over. My brothers camero was broken into on Sunday. They cracked his dashboard all up and stole the radio, messed up the seats and took the mirrors off. 

You know when we moved in that neighborhood we were the first family to move it. Well once other people started to move in I was very happy to see so many different types of people. Well it is the little teenage gansta boys that I can't stand. They walk the streets at night. I mean I am scared to walk out my front door at night. That is sad. 

I just can't believe how this whole area has changed. I mean I grew up here and felt safe here. I just want to move away. I really can't believe that people can lie, steal, and hurt others like this. I just can't imagine it. 

BM get out and do it now. If you can't feel safe in your own home then where in the heck can you feel safe? I say move just as soon as you can.

My parents are trying to sell there house in Amberwood- which is right behind Kenswick- they haven't had any problems, but I know it's just a matter of time. They live in a BEAUTIFUL house, but are having a problem selling it b/c of the location. It sucks-

Right now I would move almost anywhere to get out of that neighborhood. I am going to get a storage unit and store a lot of our things and get my house on the market. I have to get out of it. 

Where is this in Atascosita? it's not. it is on the other side of 59 on 1960.

I feel your pain, we had to move from our Atascocita neighborhood last year too for similar reasons. I just didn;t feel comfortable after the drive by shooting occured one street away from my house, so we sold the house and moved to Kingwood. You know I also grew up here and I was SHOCKED to see how bad my Atascocita neighborhood turned in just a few years, it is sad to see it happen so quickly. 

Hey BM- how many bedrooms??? My mom said EVERYONE wants a 4 bedroom house. There house is 2700 sq ft., but only 3 bedrooms- that's why they are having problems selling it- and location of course. 

B's Mom, it really does sound like you should move... I would never want to live in a place where I didn't feel safe. Put your house on the market, take your time and find a place where yall can be happy and enjoy your neighborhood.

I feel your pain, we had to move from our Atascocita neighborhood last year too for similar reasons. Ditto. I didn't like what I was seeing...our house got egged the neighbor across the street got his truck stolen (they busted thru a fence at the airport and drove it onto the runway you may remember seeing it on the news)and we always had the cops on the street b/c there was a house with foster kids and fights would break out all the time. I remember coming home from work and there were cops everywhere evidently a brawl broke out at the foster house and my neighbors said they were waiting for me to get home b/c they thought the Jersey would handle it....I told them I didn't grow up in Newark, this is just a foreign to me as it was to them LOL BM if you can do it cut your losses and get out now. 

I live in Foxwood. The older part. I call it the Ghetto too. Things have changed so much. I so glad my daughter is away at college. She grew up here and I still will not let her go out by herself after dark. I plan to move as so as we can. But our house is almost payed for. I know how you feel.
