Sweet Cherub --- 11 years ago -

I want one for at night, no spf. My skin is sensitive and on the dry side. I bought Olay age defying anti-wrinkle night cream and put it on about an hour ago...and it is stinging my face! Any recommendations for something that works well, is affordable and won't sting?

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 11 years ago -

I change around a lot- no telling what's making you sting- check the label for retinol and glycolic or salicylic acid- they could be too active for your skin-

TinktheSprite --- 11 years ago -

Right now I am loving Philosophy's Hope in a Jar. But I am looking for one with high SPF without feeling like a grease face.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 11 years ago -

the chances are if it's a night cream, it has retinol- although it's an important ingredient for anti aging, it may be too strong for you- try using a plain old night cream, and using the other twice a week- working up to every night-

Sweet Cherub --- 11 years ago -

Thanks DTD.

8675309, I tried Philosophy and it also made my face sting...:(

Fair skin and light eyes and hair are not always your friend...

Hope in a Jar has a combination of acids. I have been using various "acids" on my skin for awhile and don't have much reaction if any.

sorry, citrus- no one can tell another person what line would work for them- some things work, some don't- take my advise about retinol and another moisturizer-take my advise- I usually charge for it-if you want to listen to someone else, good luck- it's your skin-

Sweet Cherub --- 11 years ago -

I checked DTD and it does have pro-retinol... also beta-hydroxy, vitamin B3 and vitamin E. I think it is the retinol making my skin sting. I will try what you said and use it just twice a week and just get a regular moisturizer for every night use. Maybe I can build up a tolerance to it. Thanks.

no no... my mind is in the gutter

I've heard you can even use your day time moisturizer! If it works you know!?

I have extremely dry sensitive skin AND I still break out. I find Aveeno for day and Dermologica at night seems to work ok.

Sweet Cherub --- 11 years ago -

I don't want to use my daytime moisturizer at night because it has spf in it and I don't want to wear that to bed. My sister uses Dermologica. I have never tried that. Isn't it expensive though? Still, if it is really good on sensitive skin it might be worth the extra bucks.

gunsnroses --- 11 years ago -

Elizabeth Arden Prevage :)

Kayry --- 11 years ago -

If your day time even with an SPF works well, give it a try at night. It doesn't matter if it has sunscreen or not, if it works it works.

Yes Dermologica is expensive, but it's worth it!

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 11 years ago -

I sold it once, wasn't crazy about it- IMO, if you're gonna use a professional product, I like Glo Therapeutic-

FireWife --- 11 years ago -

Avalon Organics. Has Vitamin C and SPF in it.

UHCOUGAR14 --- 11 years ago -

Dermalogica dynamic skin recovery is awesome! So is the intensive moisture balance

I agree, I alternate with Dermologica. Great stuff.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 11 years ago -

0U812 --- 11 years ago -

gotcha-

I've had my eye on glo make up--- have you used it?

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 11 years ago -

I've sold that line, too-

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 11 years ago -

truth is, I like department store make up the best- Chanel is the best, hands down for eye make up and blush- (I sold that, too, as a make up artist!)

Lovemyboys05 --- 11 years ago -

I use NeriumAd- age defying day and night cream and it contains no retinol. It is paraben free and noncomedogenic.

Sweet Cherub --- 11 years ago -

I hate makeup. I am a low maintenance girl. I wear minimal makeup. My foundation is bare eccentuals bare minerals. I like it because it is light and much more natural looking to me than liquid foundation. I can't stand when you can see that line on the side of a woman's face. Gross.

0U812 --- 11 years ago -

I use Laura Mercier and Bare Minerals. Glo was recommended to me by the esthetician that was giving me a microderm ... but she is also selling it so I took the recommendation lightly. I know that when my Bare Minerals are completely finished I won't buy anymore except for the bisque. I love mineral make up even though it does't always love me.

Cherub... I hope you find your perfect match. Honestly for years... Cetaphil, noxzema, and oils were all I put on my face until my hormones and ph levels balanced out.

moltobella --- 11 years ago -

Take a look at Weleda Skin Food. I have extremely sensitive skin and its one of the only intense moisturizers that doesnt make my face itch or sting. They actually sell small tubes for like $5 at Target which is perfect for trying it out. Its normally $15-$20 a tube but it lasts a long time. You should check out reviews on MakeUp Alley.

udder budder for cow teets. Dont laff, worx as well as the hi dolla stuff

Celebrity --- 11 years ago -

I use Skinceuticals and love it.

Kayry --- 11 years ago -

Glo make up products and Bare Minerals irritate my skin due to the level of titanium dioxide in them. Honestly the only line so far that I've been able use is Covergirl!

Tylers Journey --- 11 years ago -

I use coconut oil to wash my face and as a moisturizer. It kills the bacteria and doesn't clog your pores.

You can call me Michelle --- 11 years ago -

I use Cerave, both the night and day ones. The thought of trying a new moisturizer scares me because my skin in very delicate. Some sweet lady found me in the moisturizer section reading the labels of everything and suggested it to me. Best stuff ever! I've used it for over a year now and it has improved my skin.

Thanks for that tip. I have seen it at the drug store but have never tried it. I am tired of spending a fortune on products that don't seem any better than what CVS carries.

I have been happy with Boots #7 Protect and Perfect.
